Southern Maryland—tobacco country. Estate grants from the kings and queens of Europe. Southern Maryland society in the 1960's—then and now in novels, stories, and poetry.
Romance, hidden treasure, stolen jewels, fugitive slave hideouts, wild and all-consuming fires, an old slave graveyard, genteel southern Maryland parties, unscrupulous tobacco merchants, wispy ghosts, and restless spirits—bits and pieces of the past that have survived the journey to 1960’s southern Maryland former tobacco plantations. The pieces are all there, but how do they fit together? Two parallel descendants travel two separate roads to the same place in time and space. The present is haunted by the past and the future promises the same.

Cass persuades a reluctant Brad to solve the mystery of The Old Wicklow House, rumored to be haunted, during the Blizzard of 1966 in Southern Maryland. This time, she pulls from her arsenal as protection against restless spirits the powerful protection of crystals: moonstone, pyrite, Blue John, snakestone, carnelian, amethyst, and bloodstone to mention a few. But ultimately she convinces Brad to turn once again to the Ouija Board to unravel the mystery of The Old Wicklow House.
Two friends share a frightening experience in the swamps of a 1960's southern Maryland tobacco farm.
